I am running the Moonlight Run at Hammonasset this afternoon. I hope this (my 3rd) run is better, I usually like the heat... we'll see. Happy Reading
05/03/09: I made the executive decision to swap my (old) Lotus's pedals for my new suicidal clip in pedals as I haven't had enough time to adjust. I had B at the bike shop throw them on the Lotus as my bike trainer, 1990? Univega 2000, is outdated for the today's bikes. It seems like a rational choice, that way I can train on the Lotus with the cycling shoes, and train with my trail running sneaks with the rigid Spenco inserts for cycling event that is fast approaching. I'll swap them back after that race, and hopefully be ready for the crazy clip-ins for the Womens Sprint Tri in September.
Saturday was a great day! A local spa donated some gift certificates to be included in a prize basket my friends and I are putting together to raffle off to help raise the $400 in sponsor money necessary for me to ride in my cycling event. I'm really kissing @$$ to all of my co-workers, and being as super charming as possible as I have a lot of money to raise. The University is having other fund-raisers to help the riders meet the designated dollar amount, so hopefully not to worry. The donations that are coming are so wonderful, it just fills my heart to accept these acts of kindness which will help me reach my goals, the primary is to raise money to help fight cancer, the other goals I'll hold selfishly to myself. I also booked a pedicure for myself, as I have only had one (creepy) before. Wow!! My feet feel great, I reccoment pedicures for everybody!!
Sunday we went to Hammonsset State Park, I rode almost 10 miles, and stopped to visit Ralphie, my turtle I donated 3 or 4 years ago. He is on top of his mate, Alice, in this pic, and this is the first year she laid an egg but my Ralphie has been with me since 1985 when he was just a wee 1 year old, and doesn't know how to fertilize the eggs. I'll have to find some Turtle porn! Poor guy.

i think after tomorrow's marathon i'll book a pedicure for sure! Clip in pedals took a while for me to get used to, and even now, i'm still a wimp, and hugely cautious :) Good luck with the fundraising!

I work for the University that is sponsoring the event, and am the ONLY one, on my floor anyway, who is riding... so I'll guilt them in a very pathetic way.
