We went to New York to visit my nephew today. Oh to see his precious little face, his sweet little eyes looking up at us was a moment I won't soon forget. I even got a quick little smile when I was talking to him. He even lifted his arm to show me the cool light on the clip on his finger, I believe for his pulse oximeter, he thinks it's pretty cool. He was moaning, I think when he was thinking out loud, really. But no speech yet.
This will probably be the last visit for a while because once his treatments start and his resistance to infection is low, we won't be able to see him for a while. I don't think I need to say how much I look forward to this part of his treatment to be past him. I can't wait till he's running around with his cousins making us crazy again.
Now I was not aware that his nick name should be Boom Boom as he goes around head punching, face punching and meat punching all of his cousins. My son's were telling me all these stories of the pounding they happily got from our sweet BC on the way home from the hospital, giggling the whole time they were telling me their stories. I don't understand boys and why they think getting pounded is funny. Boys(and men), are just silly.
I do have good news tho, when I had to run across BJ's for a price, my hamstring although tight, wasn't so bad. If I'm good with my rehab this week, maybe a run on the cushioned track at the high school this coming weekend. Hmmmm.

nice blog n thk for sharin
thanks for the update about BC, i can only imagine how wonderful it must have been to see even the littlest of smiles :)
good news about the hamstring! Fingers crossed for you.
Sorry to hear about your nephew. :(
Praying......
First, Thanks for ALL of your prayers, they ARE working, keep it up!!
I forgot to add how beautiful that part of New York is. The drive over there was quite pleasant with the hills dotting the landscape, a lush green landscape very much like Connecticut- but was still in New York. Something as a young girl and many visits to Riverside Dr NYC to visit my uncle, I thought ALL of New York was bustling, even tho I knew from geography it wasn't, that image was burned into my mind.
So hears to you, Westchester people, I LIKE(love) your county. It's so calming and beautiful. I'll try to get some nice pics from my new phone and put them up. :)
Now I need to find good places for a snack after visits... comments welcome, as usual.
Things sound promising based on that update!
What's not to like about a good pounding? Also, for us boys (men), it is better to give than receive ...
Keep us updated sister!
Good news on the hammy, too!
Wow, it really sucks that you and your family and BC have to deal with this.. you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Glad you got to see him, and I hope recovery and treatment go well.
So very glad you got to hang out with the little man!
We'll all just keep praying for BC and your whole family. I'm glad you got to see him, especially with a smile. Kids are just amazing.
Smart move to go visit for sure! I'm sure you're thrilled for your little bit of time for now. Thinks about you guys.
